"Projects for the 1997 Year: One of the big projects we would like to become a reality this year is an artisan show involving all the visual and performing artists. The 3rd Annual Durham West Blues Fest will feature live music performances from award winning and emerging blues artists. The 2016 line-up includes Steve Hill, Swingin’ Blackjacks, Blue Room, VOODOO Pawn Shop, Richard Henderson, The Focklers and The Marwills.
The festival also includes a blues guitar workshop from 1-3PM taking place in the acoustical setting of Council Chambers, hosted by Suzie Vinnick.

The 2016 volunteer driven and locally organized Durham West Blues Fest is modeled after other successful community blues festivals. Our objectives are to present an annual event to promote, educate and celebrate the art of the blues music genre and visual arts within a fully accessible community festival.

Mask Magic at Artfest Since 2014

Each year PineRidge Arts Council offers a new arts experience to visitors at Artfest. This year, thanks to the generosity of Enbridge Pipelines Inc., kids of all ages will be able to paint and decorate free wooden masks to take home. The annual popular outdoor event, Artfest on the Esplanade, brings families together at the arts and crafts tables. Parents, grandparents and kids will receive guidance and suggestions from a PRAC teaching artist (if they wish) and create their unique mask to show off and treasure.
