ArtfestThe City of Pickering and PineRidge Arts Council were pleased and excited to welcome back Artfest 2023 on the Esplanade to 3,668 attendees!

Mask Magic 2023 saw about 1000 visitors to our tent and Rola and her team gave out over 450 masks to children of all ages. As usual Bling was the Thing for the masks.

Paint Party 2023 was a huge success with three teaching artists and 20 eager painters per class.

Paint Party 2023

We introduced a new hands-on paint opportunity for adults and are looking for sponsors for 2024.

Paint Party had three teaching artists guiding painters to create a one-of-a-kind up to 8"x10" masterpiece to take home and treasure.

11 am to noon Mina Daya

Mina"Chickadees’

Mina has nurtured a lifelong passion of creative expression through painting and design and has been painting for more than 30 years. She believes strongly in art education and in teaching both children and adults the skills that can enable them to draw and paint realistically. Her creative channels are as diverse as the various artists she admires and with whom she has worked on programs that blended seamlessly on countless art projects. Her style is constantly evolving as she enjoys experimenting and painting freely in various mediums. She is now retired from teaching at a local Montessori School a few years ago but always enjoys facilitating private paint parties and art classes . Mina is strongly focussed on pursuing paintings , primarily in acrylics and watercolours by allowing herself to explore subject matter ranging from flowers to animals to landscapes to the odd figurative piece, finding that “Art is everywhere” !
