Dead Man’s Cell Phone
By Sarah Ruhl
Directed by Margo Rodgers
Stage Managed by Sharon Lochan
“Excuse me – are you going to get that?”
A persistently ringing cell phone in a quiet café. And a dead man with a lot of loose ends.
Jean, a stranger seated nearby, can stand it no longer. impulsively answering this call propels her headlong into Gordon’s world, the lives he led, and the people he touched. A funny play about how we memorialize - and how that remembering changes each of us - this is the odyssey of a brave woman testing her own notions about morality, redemption, and how to connect in a world rapt with technology.

The exhibition titled Stein’s Law, references the popular American economist’s theory, that if something cannot go forever, it will stop, and poses questions about sustainability in our current economic models. The exhibition will also include works of local abandoned sites in the Clarington region and will be shown at the VAC galleries as well as the Clarington Town Hall and Library.
